On What Rock Does the Left Stand?

Craig Chamberlin of The Conservative Voice has written and excellent column today.  If anybody ever wonders as to exactly where the left anchors their philosophy, then this is a good read. To put it into context, their thoughts, agendas, plans, and everything else about them rests on the "do as I say,not as I do" theory, aka, hypocracy.

Russell Brand, MTV, Kindrid Spirits

MTV has given me yet another reason as to why I do not watch much television.  Now I will admit I did not watch the awards program because it doesn't interest me.  So like some of you, or maybe most of you I had to read the transcript which I found at Michelle Malkins' Website.

I also am placing a copy of the transcript below;

"Now, as a representative of the global community and a visitor from abroad, I don’t want to come across a little bit biased, but could I please ask of you people of America, to PLEASE ELECT BARACK OBAMA. Please! On behalf of the world. (Camera pans to singers Chris Brown and Britney Spears applauding and cheering.) Some people, I think they’re called racists, say that America is not ready for a black president. But I know America to be a forward-thinking country, right. Because, otherwise, you know, would you have let that retarded cowboy fellow be president for eight years?

We were very impressed. It was nice of you to let him have a go. Because in England, George Bush wouldn’t be trusted with a pair of scissors.

I am obliged by broadcasting law to show some balance in this situation, which means, uh, the Republicans might be alright. Sarah Palin. She’s a VILF! A vice president I’d like to…fumble, fondle, I dunno. I do feel a little bit sorry for her daughter, getting pregnant, poor kid. Is it a boy? Is it a girl? It’s a P.R. stunt. Come on. Be honest.

And I feel most sorry for that poor teenaged father. Boy. One minute, he’s just a teenaged lad in Alaska having joyful, unprotected sex. And the next minute: Get to the Republican convention. I think that is the best safe sex message of all time. Use a condom or become Republican! …That boy will spend the rest of his life masturbating while wearing a condom…

…New music, new president, and brand new America. And you people deserve it after eight years of Bush. I promise you, you deserve it…"

Mrs. Malkin continues on with her article and it is a very good read. She also included some of the backlash by some rather angry viewers. However if you want to see all of the responses you can click here.

It is hoped that MTV will get the message for next year.  As usual the left has shot itself in the foot.

Culture in Black and White

For too long Americans have been told that the values that they cherish have no meaning. That there is no right or wrong, no good or evil, only gray areas in which what is right for me, might not be right for you.

Herbert E. Meyer of American Thinker has written a column that says otherwise.  It is time that Americans decide who is going to run their lives; themselves, or government.

Precisely! Why Not Victory?

Does any of this sound familiar?

“ …there are still some Americans who do not understand that we have been at war…with an enemy who has never hidden his objective of destroying us and all other people who cherish freedom… there can no longer be any doubt about our situation in today’s world: we are at war; not a cold war but a real war…if we lose [it] will mean the end of freedom as we know it…but we need not lose this war…victory is the key to the whole problem; the only alternative is—obviously –defeat…as a people, through our government we must begin this effort by proclaiming that we intend victory as our lot and that we will shape our every move to accomplish it…once having made this decision, which should have been made long ago, we can design our national strategy to achieve it…Americans today must know their enemy…yet there are those among us who still suggest that we can co-exist…these people are the hard core of those who, whatever their reasons, will not and do not recognize the real threat of the enemy without…”

Dear reader, I am going to ask of you a favor, and that is to re-read the above quotation. Then I ask that you close your eyes and think about what is being said, take as long as you wish, I am right here and I am not going anywhere for a long time, then (hopefully if this works as well as I planned), scroll down and see as to who made this statement.

The statement was made by the late Senator from Arizona Barry Goldwater in a book written in 1962 and is entitled:

“Why Not Victory”

The former Senator was in his remarks referring to Communism. In particular he was speaking about the former evil empire the Soviet Union, and its cohorts.

IF, I had my way this would be required reading for all HS freshman. It is well known that the educational elite lean to the left, however IF I could insert one book it would be this one.

Little did the late Senator know that his words would become so chillingly prophetic as his words still hold true even to this day. It is amazing to me how it seems that the same people that were sitting with their heads in the sand are still doing so at this time.

Go ahead read the quote again and see if it does not apply to the current war on Islamo-facism.

The senator goes on to quote Clausewitz’ “On War” who says:

“…unity from one standpoint and it is only the keeping to one point of view that guards us from inconsistency…”

Translation:

The nation needs to behind this war 100%, and yet, we do not see this happening. There are, as the late senator said, those that chose to either ignore the reality, or appease those that would do us harm. They are in the words of Senator Goldwater hoping;

“to buy the world for our side rather than to gain its respect by strong action for freedom…we have rather proceeded on the assumption that virtue [is] its own reward and that our only real goal and to make the world love us and perceive our virtue…moreover, we entered this supposed contest for world approval with a kind of guilt complex. (Perhaps the dropping of the Atom bomb on Hiroshima had something to do with it.)…in order to prove that we were not selfish, ambitious, warlike…we [have begun] to lean over backwards and to gear our policies to the opinions of others…American policy has been primarily an exercise in self-ingratiation…because of the overriding importance of having the world think well of us. This sluggish sentimentality, this obsession for pleasing people has now become a matter of grand strategy…”

If this does not sound like the Librocrats, I do not know what else would. Who else but they would feel this way? And what is a marv to me is the fact that the senator saw all of this back in 1962, and his words reflect the same attitude held today.

It is the suggestion of this writer that all of you, dear readers, put this book on your “wish list” for Christmas. Or better yet get it now. Let your children read it if they are of age, and prove to them that what was true then is true now.

As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes:

“There is nothing new under the sun”

Even More Backburner News

I fail to understand why this article and this article are not in the news. Oh that's right, the MSM still belives that the former will never work, (even though it has proved time after time in test after test to actually be working) and the latter is just not front page material, or back page, or even in the sports section.

I encourage the reader to take the time and read both articles completely.  They are both very good reads and show a lot of promise in all that we are doing in the War on Terror.

Some Good News

I know it is still a ways off to election day but time has a habit of slipping away quickly.  That being said, here are the latest polls from Gallup and Zogby. Both are showing a tight race.

They Love Their Country, They Love it Not

Remember all those flag-waving attendees to the Democrat National Convention?  Night after night we were treaed to happy, smiling flag-waving faces. Throngs of cheering crowds hanging on to each and every word from all the speeches that were being given.

And we know how they angrily react when you question their patriotism? Well you will not have to question them any longer after you read this piece by Thomas Lifson at American Thinker.  And be sure to scroll down to see the photo.

I particularly found the comment by Damon Jones, a spokesperson for the Democrats, interesting. In fact it would have been almost comical if it were not for the earnest seriousness in which he probably had spoken. I quote below;

"McCain should applaud the fact that thousands of American flags were 'proudly waved' at their convention. But instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play out a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism,"

Ah, Mr. Jones, how does one wrongfully take what you and your convention attendees wrongfully decided was trash? Did it occur to you or any others that perhaps maybe they might take the flag home?  I would imagine not, since all of you would be ashamed to fly it in front of you homes.

Jesus said that out of the mouth the issues of the heart speak.  However in this case it is their actions that speak loud and clear.

This is Help?

The very people that brought you Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are riding to the rescue.  And we should trust them because? According to an article written by Rob Alford at History News Network in December of 2003;

"Currently, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac control about 90 percent of the nation's secondary mortgage market.  Their combined debt is equal to 46 percent of the current national debt. It is this combination of rapid growth and over leveraging that has lead to the current concerns of Congress, the Justice Department and the SEC with regards to the financial practices of these GSEs. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are the only two Fortune 500 companies that are not required to inform the public about any financial difficulties that they may be having. In the event that there was some sort of financial collapse within either of these companies, U.S. taxpayers could be held responsible for hundreds of billions of dollars in outstanding debts."

Remember this article was written in 2003, that means that this problem has been an ongoing one for over five years. Again I ask you and we should trust them because?

Backburner News

With all the focus on both the DNC and the RNC, there has been little else being reported. I just thought I'd check around a few of my various favortie sites and found that Jane's Information Group had a nice little tidbit of our military preparedness.

Governor Palin Still in the Crosshairs

The NY Sun has a column about a spokesperson from Naral Pro-Choice NY, bitterly complaining  and moaning about the double standard shown by the Governor, about "funding cuts" for Covenant House (Alaska).

First of all this is odd coming from from a group that if they had there way would have instantly dragged Bristol Palin to an abortion clinc.  Secondly as per usual in typical liberal fashion the spokeswoman mistates the facts. As stated by Robert, a respondent to the column;

"Leave it to a narrow-minded, partisan group like NARAL to misrepresent the facts. They asked for $5 million in new funding, the budget allowed for $3.9 million, so they complain that their funding was "cut". It was not cut, it was a bit less than everything they wanted. Samantha Levine is being dishonest. And she probably didn't say "thank you" to the taxpayers who kicked in the $3.9 million."

Talk about "fuzzy math". But again this is typical of the liberal/child mindset of the left. If I can't have all I want then it's a cut and I'll whine and hold my breath until I turn blue.

I would wager that if they were sitting down at a supper table and were served up 99% of an entire pumpkin pie, they would, instead of being thankful for almost all the aforementioned pie, wail about the missing slice, and complain that they were being shortchanged.

I Got Your Change Right Here

Yesterday, a woman of common stock, not born of wealth, not born with the proverbial silver spoon took the center stage and became the voice of America.

Governor Sarah Palin, is one of us. She is not a Washington insider. She is not afraid to take on the MSM and toss their evil and feeble barbs back into their faces. To quote the title of a Tom Petty song her motto should be, “I Won’t Back Down”Mrs. Palin is what all of conservatives have been waiting for, for what seems like forever. She'll speak her mind, mince no words and take no prisoners.

She is indeed the perfect image of a working mom. One who takes time out for her kids, and yet is equally comfortable in taking on the challenges of her job.

Her vision of America is not one of disparity, nor unfairness, nor racism, nor evil. It is one of progress, of human endeavors that cause the least of us to rise to the top. It is a vision of a nation that not only leads the world in the cause of freedom and the advancement of freedom, but also, leads the world in the development and advancement of technology.

Hers is a vision of an energy independent America that can bring its resources and the knowledge of how best to utilize those resources to the world market and stage.

She sees confrontation on the horizon, and is not afraid to talk peace backed by strength.

I see in her a Christian woman who understands what it means to be a Christian. To understand that each of us daily falls short of the glory that is God, and is humble enough to acknowledge that fact. That at best our own righteousness is no more than filthy rags, but understands that with that by the grace of God we are forgiven.

She sees the potential of the US markets freed from restrictions imposed by those who would rather see us as a third world nation, as opposed to the greatness that we can achieve.

This is change. This is someone in whom I can believe. This is someone I feel I can trust to get the job done.

This is Sarah Palin, this is the face of the real America

We Are in for a Treat

The Wall Street Journal has a wonderful editorial in this morning's edition.  The op-ed compare's the Labour Party of the UK during the 1970's to the policies that Senator Obama is putting forth as part of his idea of change.  It took Margret Thatcher to reverse the downward slide and bring the UK, back to economic health from being the former "sick man of Europe".

If Governer Palin is anything even close to PM Thatcher, we are for a wonderful treat.

I Just Looooooooves this Woman

Memorable Quotes in last nights speech.

1)"I’ve learned quickly these past few days that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.  But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion, I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

2)"our opponents say again and again that drilling won't solve all of our energy problems - as if we didn't know that already."

3)"we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening"

Lame Liberal Repsonse.

“The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush's speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years,”

Partisan attacks? They can't be serious.

The Military Option

The NY Sun has an editorial in today's edition about a possible strike by the US against Iranian nuke plants. It also mentioned a report that I had read the other day about a possible covert operation by the Netherlands.  While it is this bloggers opinion that such a strike is most likely  not going to happen, (at least by the US), it certainly is an option that has not been exactly taken off the table.

The article also goes on to mention Senator Bidens views and comments about the possiblity of such a strike. I will let you draw your own conclusion on the above mentioned Senator's words.
