A Sure Winner

This, is sure to work. What could possibly go wrong?  A governor of a state♠ that at one point couldn't even pay refunds to its own citizens is going to run health care.

♠According to a government watchdog group this problem really started back in 2004, when Repbulicans in the KS legislature had proposed two items be put into place during the budget talks.

One was the recomendation that a spending cap of 5% be put into place, whcih would control government spending.  The second recomendation was the creation of a stablization fund, (sort of a rainy day fund), that would have placed a certain percentage of ALL tax revenues into a speacial account to be used for just such an emergency which now faces the state's fiscal woes.

NIETEHR were acted upon, and all was hunky dorry until the begining of the economic slowdown starting in 2008, wherein tax revenues, (due to less comsumers purchasing items), did not keep up with government spending.

In 2006 the state had nearly a billion dollars in surplus revenue in the bank, and it is now, thanks to spending like drunken sailors about 200 million in the hole.

What the Repbulicans are trying to do is to get these fiscally responsible ideas placed into the budget for 2009, so that a repeat of this situation does NOT happen again.

This painting of GOP as being evil because they won't go along with the plan to rob Peter to pay Paul, is nothing more than a MSM ploy.
